Armenian State Pedagogical University hosted Igor Isayev, Director of the Institute for Linguistics of the Russian State University for Humanities, who arrived in Armenia within the framework of the Russian Humanitarian Initiative programme organized by Rossotrudnichestvo.

Igor Isayev delivered a lecture for lecturers of ASPU and other universities, focusing on peculiarities of Russian pronunciation and providing practical tips for teaching quality improvement. He also presented the relationship between theory and practice in the teaching of the language. The guest presented not only theoretical research on the subject, but also phonics toolkit.

“He tried to show how to connect theory and practice in teaching and to apply capabilities of the subject matter,” said Tigran Mikaelyan, Dean of the Faculty of Foreign Languages at ASPU. He added that it was a great honour for them to host one of the best specialists in Russia ‘whose lectures impress any audience.’

The meeting was organized by the Russian Centre for Science and Culture in Yerevan and the Ministry of Science and Education of the Republic of Armenia.
