Lecture from a Young Professor

The Professor of the University of Lorraine and Centrale Supelec Ninel Kokanyan is visiting the Pedagogical University by the invitation of the Chair of Physics and its Teaching Methods.

During the meeting with the teaching- professorial staff, the PhD and MA students the young lecturer of the Lorraine University, researcher Ninel Kokanyan presented the University’s structure, academic and scientific activities, noting that it was one of the leading Universities in France which held the 2-3rd places with a number of criteria.

During the lecture-seminar on “Raman Spectroscopy Basics” the professor thoroughly explained the areas of applying that spectroscopy, mentioned its strongest analytic meaning, after which discussed the methods of studying crystals with instruments based on Raman dissemination concept and creating new crystals.

The theoretic part was followed by an open discussion experimental lesson at the APSU Laboratory of new material of quantum electronics and integral optics

As a matter of fact, the laboratory was recently replenished with equipment that is unrivaled in the region – the Raman spectroscope, the opportunities of which were demonstrated in practice.

The Head of the Chair of Physics and its Teaching Methods Edward Kokanyan highlighted the importance of presence of the specialists at the University during his interview to the old.aspu.am. professors from different countries had been making presentations, sharing their experience and knowledge for already a long while.

Likewise, Edward Kokanyan added that it was a good opportunity for the students to understand that the roads were open, all they needed to do was to acquire relevant knowledge in order to achieve the desired results.

After graduating from the Yerevan State University, Ninel Kokanyan has been the PhD student of the Lorraine University since 2011. In 2015, after defending her dissertation she worked for a year, after which she received the title of Professor.

“It is a pleasure to return and to see active students, who are interested, motivated and willing to study. I advise to set objectives and to look for ways to fulfill them; I have been guided by that principle myself”, said the young scientist and happily mentioned that those present were widely interested in the topic that carried novelty to Armenia, and this was obvious due to the questions raised by those present.
