A Master’s conference dedicated to the 100th anniversary of the First Republic of Armenia was organized at Armenian State Pedagogical University upon the initiative of the Chair of Professional Education and Applied Pedagogy.
In their reports, the students of the Faculty of Educational Psychology and Sociology, and the Faculty of Primary Education touched upon the effects of cartoons on the development and behaviour of children, socio-pedagogical features of senior pupils in the process of developing entrepreneurship competences, as well as different pedagogical situations in elementary schools.
The speakers focused on the nature of pedagogical conflicts in elementary schools and proposed ways to overcome them, referred to the protection of pupil rights, socio-cultural competences of teachers and other issues. They highlighted the work of social educators with gifted children from incomplete families, their role in organizing the leisure and entertainment of adolescents.
Srbuhi Gevorgyan, ASPU Rector for Educational and Scientific Affairs, stressed the importance of the conference and added that it enables to combine the work performed in theoretical and practical fields.
“This is the result of everyday work which needs permanent improvement and correction. Use this platform and do your first scientific steps in the spheres of pedagogy and psychology," Srbuhi Gevorgyan said wishing the participants of the conference productive work.
Heghine Khachatryan, Dean of the Faculty of Primary Education, stressed that the conference was a unique opportunity [for the students] to gain experience in presenting theses, pedagogical views and methods on the threshold of thesis defense. The dean also hailed the cooperation between the Chair and the Faculty of Primary Education, saying it contributes to the development and promotion of pedagogical culture in the country.
