“I would like to cordially congratulate on the 71st anniversary of victory in the Great Patriotic War, the May triple- holiday and glorious triumphs of the Armenian nation. We are grateful to you and to everybody for the peaceful sky and every rising sun. The homeland appreciates all- those who are not with us, and the Veterans who are building the presence with us today”, the ASPU Rector Rouben Mirzakhanyan mentioned during the traditional meeting with the University’s former employees – veterans on the May triple –holiday.
In addition, the Rector granted Roza Pashinyan, Suren Zohrabyan and Tsolak Simonyan with monetary awards and highlighted that their lessons of courage and heroism to the students – future pedagogues, are extremely important, they are educated on this patriotic lessons which they are supposed to pass to next generations as the path they had covered is an open lesson of patriotism that keeps awake our memory- the memory of those alive.
Likewise, speaking about the situation on the front, Rouben Mirzakhanyan noticed that the desire of heroically defending the country is a normal fact; their courage is also passed through heredity.
“Their fight for the homeland is most noble and it should be refined ; great role is given to the family in this task”.
In his turn, Souren Zohrabyan, who is giving lectures at the Faculty of Education Psychology and Sociology until now, considers himself lucky to see that there are people continuing what was once commenced.
“Thanks to fair and stubborn fights we did not become a secondary country and today, that glorious task is duly accomplished by our defending army armed with modern weapons and the brave young people of our country”.
Tsolak Simonyan, who has 65 years of pedagogical experience, 35 of which was spent at the Pedagogical University, emphasized that the struggle for the preservation of Armenian identity is and will be a priority for Armenians.
“No matter where you are, you must think about your nation- this is the slogan that has been leading me in the life, at home, and on the front throughout years”, he added.
On the occasion of the victory and peace, the teaching-professorial team and the students of the Armenian State Pedagogical University after Khachatur Abovyan, together with the Veterans of the Great Patriotic War, lead by the Rector of the University Rouben Mirzakhanyan first laid a wreath at the monument of the hero of Artsakh located in the University area, after which they all moved to the “Victory” park.
Similarly, the ASPU representatives laid another wreath near the immortal fire and held a minute of silence to commemorate the victims.
