“It is not excluded that many of you will join our ranks in the future. Although today pedagogues’ social position is far from being the best, the development of education and science is a top priority for any country and society,” ASPU Rector Ruben Mirzakhanyan said during a meeting with degree seekers and PhD students who applied for postgraduate courses in the 2019-2020 academic year.
Congratulating the PhD students and degree seekers the rector emphasized once again the importance of recruiting young people to do research in science.
Ruben Mirzakhanyan presented the young people the scientific journals which have been and are going to be included in the international scientific databases and said those journals are a good opportunity for young people to publish their research papers. The Rector also urged the applicants and PhD students to be more independent while doing research, not to copy from others and to use the Internet cautiously.
Congratulating the degree seekers and PhD students, Aida Topuzyan, Doctor of Pedagogical Sciences and Head of the Chair of Pedagogy, noted that most of them are graduates of the Pedagogical University.
“As teachers we are role models for others. You should realize that from now on you will take over that role,” said Prof. Topuzyan. She advised everyone to work as much as possible, to learn to independently make comparisons, analyses and conclusions.
Hasmik Hovhannisyan, Head of the Chair of Philosophy and Logic after Academician Georg Brutian, added that the Chair has a circle of young scientists which is open to everyone involved in science.
“In a successful scientific work, techniques make 90%, 5% is devoted to the topic. Diligence makes 3% and only 2% is ability,” Hasmik Hovhannisyan cited the words of philosopher Georg Brutian and added that in the future they will teach their students to be independent.
At the end of the meeting, the postgraduate students and degree seekers received as a gift the "Pedagogical University" album in Russian and English languages.
