Today, the ASPU Rector Rouben Mirzakhanyan had a meeting with the relevant teaching-professorial staff of the University chairs.
During the meeting the Rector spoke about reforms undertaken for the improvements of learning processes, highlighting that any change will be successful if realization thereof is brought in line with local conditions.
During the workshop the Rector particularly emphasized the rating assessment of professional activities of the University’s teaching –professorial staff ensuring that it would have relevant reflection on compensations as well.
Active involvement on the Google classroom platform, expanding the scope of scientific activities including publication in international journals, conducting internships, etc. By attracting the attention of the teaching –professorial team on this and other issues, Rouben Mirzakhanyan called for their suggestions that would support and refine the process of reforms.
Furthermore, during the meeting the Head of the Department of Education Reforms and Quality Assurance Mkrtich Avagyan in his turn presented the aim of the process, its problems, and the working principles ensuring that they will allow to more objectively assess the compliance of a lecturer to the qualification requirements for the position in question, as well as their contribution to the fulfillment of educational and scientific objectives, etc.
In addition, speaking about the assessment criteria, Mkrtich Avagyan clarified that it would be a combination of qualitative, educational, methodological, organizational, scientific, research indicators, as well as the assessment of activities aimed at replenishing the University with applicants.
The Head of the Department of Education Reforms and Quality Assurance informed that therefrom a portfolio would be required containing documents confirming the assessment indicators; the deadline thereof is 20 February.
During the workshop with the University’s teaching-professorial staff there was a discussion of questions, suggestions related to both ratings and various aspects of organizing the learning processes.
