During the lecture, Lilia Balasanyan presented the works of a number of authors, who at different time periods empathized that for Armenian and Russian people it is important to know each other’s language.
The ASPU associate professor stressed that Khachatur Abovian, the great Armenian enlightener and father of modern Armenian literature and language, also contributed to the development of the methodology of Russian language teaching in Armenian schools at the beginning of the 19th century.
"The analysis of Russian language textbooks intended for Armenian pupils shows that they reflect the main directions of Russian and European methodology of language teaching in national schools," said Lilia Balasanyan.
The latter added that in the 20th century not only Russian language textbooks but also serious scientific papers dedicated to methodology were published in Armenia.
Lilia Balasanyan particularly singled out new generation textbooks developed by Armenian methodologists for the national school in the 70-80s under the leadership of ASPU Professor Bela Yesajanyan.
"Several generations [in Armenia] have been educated by the textbooks authored by the first Doctor in Russian Language, Professor Bela Yesajanyan- more than 30 textbooks, 315 scientific papers and 6 monographs. The textbooks and methodological theories she created were based on comparative typological analysis, as well as on the methods developed earlier," the speaker added.
Summing up her speech, Lilia Balasanyan quoted famous scientist Pasov, stressing that only when everyone understands the role of a pedagogue in society will the usefulness and importance of the methods of teaching Russian language be deeply perceived. "Bela Yesajanyan emphasized participation of teachers in the creation of textbooks," Associate Professor Balasanyan said at the end of his lecture.
