“My Land of Armenia” Exhibition

Today, the Pedagogical University Faculty of Culture hosted the presentation of the film by the University’s graduate Garnik Melik-Karapetyan named “My Land of Armenia”; the film consisted of three parts, and in fact, the last part was a premiere.

The films authored by the former student of the Department of Cinematography are composed mainly of photographs; in each film there are about 30.000 to 35.000 photos, and in the latest one there are 50.000.

The films prepared within the scope of the graduate work, which were then turned into motion pictures of 3-5 minutes, fully present Armenia with its whole beauty and unique features.

The films that received special prizes in “It is me” international and “Art Fest” youth film festivals were highly appreciated also by the audience of the Pedagogical.

It is difficult for the photographer, who presented Armenia in such a format for the first time, to talk about peculiarities of the photos he made in his films, however, he notices that they are not only of cognitive nature. In the opinion of those who watched the film there is sole therein.

“It is difficult to present yourself somewhere, where you made your first steps. Thanks to the late camera operators Albert Yavuryan and Martun Shahbazyan I was able to make my professional development”, Garnik Melik-Karapetyan mentioned in his interview to the old.aspu.am; moreover, he frankly added that accepted the invitation from the Chair of Cinematography, Artistic Photography and Social-Cultural Activity, as well as admitted the remarks and recommendations from the leading specialists with professional willingness.

To conclude, the new camera operator promised not to bore the audience with his films and to present only new and interesting pieces.
