In connection with the 90th anniversary of Armenian State Pedagogical University (ASPU) and International Youth Day, members of the ASPU Student Council visited on November

10 a military unit stationed in Noyemberyan.
Patriotic and folk songs were performed during the event which stirred up great enthusiasm among the soldiers who are defending the borders of our Homeland. The songs also raised the mood and patriotic spirit of the servicemen.
On the sidelines of the visit, the MA students of the Faculty of Education Psychology and Sociology, who specialize in Military Education and Psychology, got familiarized with the daily routine and conditions of the military unit, characteristics of the educational training and dined at the military canteen.
The meeting with the servicemen, who curbed Azerbaijan's subversive act months ago, was very impressive.
“Similar events are also important in terms of providing feedback: the attention and gratitude of the society and students increase soldiers’ responsibility of their service, and sense of seeking the respect of the society,” Hakob Tadevosyan, Deputy Dean of the Faculty of Education Psychology and Sociology, Candidate of Pedagogical Sciences and Associate Professor, told armspu.am.
He also highlighted practical trainings in the sense of providing connection between theory and practice in the process of learning, as well as shaping a positive attitude among soldiers towards their profession and military service.
Visits to military units are also important as they seed patriotism and better knowledge of Homeland among students.

En route to the military unit, the group passed through several frontier villages of Tavush marz (province), including Voskepar, Kirants, Berkaber, Baghanis and Voskevan. The students had an opportunity to see the state border stretching along the road, Armenian soldiers standing in trenches, the traces of military operations that took place there two decades ago, military footholds of the adversary and Azerbaijani Mazam village.
During the visit, the students were accompanied by Colonel Ara Sargsyan, Deputy Commander of the Third Army Unit. He introduced to the students the peculiarities of the region, the situation along the Line of Contact between Azerbaijani and Nagorno-Karabakh Armed Forces, the high level of preparedness of military units. He also recalled episodes about military operations.
At the end of the event, the Student Council awarded five servicemen with certificates for their high sense of responsibility and discipline demonstrated during the military service.
Commander of the military unit, Colonel Vahagn Asatryan had prepared a pleasant surprise for the guests: for their contribution to the patriotic education and cooperation Chairman of the Student Council Volodya Gasparyan, Deputy Dean of the Faculty of Education Psychology and Sociology Hakob Tadevosyan and two students were received diplomas by the commander.
