Candidate of Pedagogical Sciences and Associate ProfessorRima Arakelyan has been working at the Pedagogical University for about 50 years.

After losing her parents at the age of 13, she appeared at a children's home. Later, Rima Arakelyan graduated from the Pedagogical College, then the Institute of Physical Culture. “I did not attend classes. I was the only girl among 120 boys.
I wanted to continue the work of my mother and become a teacher-methodologist. My dream came true: by the order of the Minister I entered the Pre-school Department of the Pedagogical Institute and began working as a pedagogue since 16,” says Rima Arakelyan.
The author of numerous books dedicated to the upbringing of preschool age children hurries to share the secret of anti-aging – eternal youth.

“Communicating with young people and getting positive energy from them I always feel young and vigorous. Having worked with students for over 50 decades I have always wanted to make then literate and educated people,” she said.
On the occasion of the 90th anniversary of the Pedagogical University and at the invitation of Rector RoubenMizrakhanyan, the University hosted 23 educators and administrative staff members who have worked at the institution for 40 years and more. Rima Arakelyan was one of them.
During the meeting with the University Rector, the veteran pedagogues, who were ‘baptized’ at the Pedagogical University, recalled episodes from the past, and remembered the active lecturers of the University.
Speaking about today's reality, RoubenMirzakhanyan confessed, “For years, we have not distinguished between

education and diploma. Being the 18th rector of the University, I shall try my utmost to be a good person first of all for students, making the years of study the best moments in their lives.”
At the end of the meeting, MrMirzakhanyanawarded the guests with medals symbolizing the 90th anniversary of the University, an illustrated album presenting the history and chronology of the University and jubilee chocolates.
