“Success of schools of the Soviet Armenia was achieved due to teachers prepared by the Pedagogical University. In the whole process of the 90 years history the University had to
carry the difficult problems of ensuring education, popularization, organization promoting to establishment of pedagogical universities in other regions,” the RA Minister of ES Armen Ashotyan mentioned at the Scientific Council session today.
In his turn, the University Chancellor Rouben Mirzakhanyan greeted the Minister and expressed gratitude in the name of the teaching-professorial team for the treatment and trust he expressed towards the Pedagogical University.
“The role of our University as the largest and the most important center preparing pedagogues is very significant for the activities of the Ministry. Taking that into account, we are greatly disposed towards and give major significance to having further ongoing cooperation.”
Later, the Minister of ES proceeded with the Scientific Council session.
The latter in his turn congratulated the teaching-professorial team, the graduates and current students of the University with its anniversary mentioning that it was a great honour to be a part of the Pedagogical University that was realizing major reforms in the sphere of public education.
“Today, the Pedagogical University is not only a higher educational establishment and one of the largest educational centers of the country, but also it is an institution with which improvements and success of secondary education is connected.”
Besides, Armen Ashotyan emphasized the new strategy of the University.
“Currently the University is undergoing its most significant and complicated periods sinking into the turmoil of reforms which comprises all fields of education. The University, together with the Chancellor Rouben Mirzakhanyan, and the President of the Management Council, Vice President Tigran Sargsyan, and with strong efforts of the staff and students’ involvement, has quite ambitious objectives and vivid idea how to reach credible results.
As a matter of fact, it is quite characteristic that at the solemn session of the Scientific Council Armen Ashotyan also referred to the problems of the University underlining the necessity of reviews of educational programmes, content modernization, as well as solving other matters of the field.
Expanded international cooperation, not only an academic but also a leading research institution equipped with progressive graduates with updated knowledge; this is the
characteristics that the Minister Armen Ashotyan gave throwing a retrospective glance on the activities of the Pedagogical University with ninety years’ history.
Upon the end of the session the members of the Scientific Council addressed their questions which referred to the creation of the center to be dealing with high -school affairs and problems of preparing a separate specialization of form masters.
The meeting was concluded by the Minister granting diplomas for the long-term pure work to the lecturers of the University Kamo Vardanyan, Srbouhi Gevorgyan, Bella Yesajanyan, Vladimir Aslizadyan, Karen Gevorgyan, Hovhannes Nazaretyan, Maxim Sargsyan, Gevorg Karapetyan.
To sum up, the Academician of the RA NAS, Doctor of Philosophical Sciences, Professor, Chairman of the International Research Institute of Methaphilosophy, Transforming Logic and Argumentation Theory, Gevorg Brutyan in his turn awarded the Minister with the “Davit Anhaght” medal.
