The Chronology of the University starting from its establishment up to our days; an exceptional three dimensional museum opened the events arranged on the 90th anniversary

of the Pedagogical University.
The visitors of this museum, which is well-equipped with modern technologies, are welcomed by the great illuminator Khachatur Abovyan himself who is addressing his message and essential ideas on education, science to his followers .
The three-dimensional museum is a real novelty; such an experience already took place in Armenia, however on this occasion it also provides sound effects.

With one touch to the screen located at the entrance hall of the museum the students may find on our official web page any piece of information about the University, and the three other screens located inside the museum tell the visitors about the history of establishment of the University, the daily flow in ten faculties, as well as its ongoing activities.
Besides, exceptional photos present eighteen chancellors of the University, also photos demonstrating the participation of the Pedagogical at the Patriotic and the Artsakh wars and its role in the process of establishment of the country.
Among those present at the solemn opening ceremony of the museum were the Minister of Culture Hasmik Poghosyan,

the President of the State University of Southern Connecticut in the USA Mary Papazyan, and representatives from other universities of RF.
Hasmik Poghosyan emphasized the of importance of installing cultural values and phenomena at museums and said, “The Pedagogical University has not been randomly chosen to bear the name of the great illuminator Khachatur Abovyan who was executing the functions of illumination, enlightenment and education on the highest level.
In our days the country’s intellectual, spiritual potential is centered at the higher educational system, and in this perspective, the Pedagogical is a peculiar reserve”.

And besides, the ribbon- cutting ceremony was entrusted to the Minister of Culture.
On the 90th anniversary of the University Hasmik Poghosyan granted diplomas for long and productive work to the Professor of the Department of Folk Instruments and Theory of Music Teaching Methods Karlen Topchyan, to the Dean of the Faculty of Culture, Candidate of Pedagogical Sciences, Professor, RA Honoured Art Worker Gevorg Tadevosyan, to the Head of the Department of Fine Art, Doctor of Pedagogical Sciences, Professor, Academician of the Academy of Education of the Russian Federation Lems Nersisyan, to the Head of the Department of Russian and Foreign Literature, Doctor of Philological Sciences, Professor Ruzan Tadevosyan, to the Director of the Center of Culture, Professor Arkady Shekunts, to the Dean of the Faculty of Art Education, Candidate of Pedagogical Sciences, Sargis Elbakyan, to the Professor of Direction, Candidate of Art Sciences, Professor Alexander Kocharyan and to Artashes Hovhannisyan, the Professor of the Department of Direction.
“This museum must become the research center advocating and studying the history of the University; in fact, the Pedagogical University’s activities have a huge contribution to the history of our nation and the development of the Armenian national school.
Today, we are standing in front of new challenges with one common aim that is to bring the Pedagogical University up to international educational standards.
And this challenge will be resolved in the forthcoming 6-7 years,” Rouben Mirzakhanyan, the Chancellor of the University mentioned.
Moreover, the Director of the Museum of the Pedagogical University Alvard Grigoryan is sure that further on, the museum

will become an educational-informational center for students that they will visit not only for observation but also will have an opportunity to become informed about their future activities.
«The University has long been in need of such a museum; the initiative was born more than three years ago. And today, we have quite a large amount of displayed material and further replenishment is still planned.
Students must get acquainted with our traditions, be familiar with the lecturers who used to teach here and those who deliver lectures today.”
The architect- designer of the museum is Haykaz Kochar, the son of Yervand Kochar.
We would like to mention, that all those willing may visit the museum; it is also intended to arrange an excursion –visit for pupils of different schools.
