Karen Demirchyan Sports and Concerts Complex in Yerevan hosted the solemn ceremony marking the 90th anniversary of Armenian State Pedagogical University (ASPU).

Participating in the solemn event were a number of high-ranking guests, including Armenia’s Prime Minister and Chairman of the ASPU Board TigranSargsyan.
Congratulating the University on behalf of the President and Government, the country’s Prime Minister said, “This is a good opportunity for us to evaluate the work and to honour all those who have had a great contribution to the educational sector.
We should always try to achieve new goals and never be satisfied with past achievements as we live in a rapidly changing world where it is Pedagogy that has serious work to do. It is not a secret that once we enrich the educational system with highly skilled specialists, we shall be able to ensure the process of reforms in the sector and overcome the new challenges.”

The Chairman of the ASPU Board is convinced that education is the key to the country’s future success, with the key being is at the Pedagogical University.
“I am glad to see the high progress recorded at the Pedagogical University. We have honest and decent educators, we are able to ‘build new bridges’ with the best universities in Europe in order to localize the best practice in the Republic of Armenia. I also notice that together with the professorial staff we have been able to transfer the vigour and new breath to the University students.
The Pedagogical University today enjoys profound respect and trust and we are to further strengthen this confidence.

The University should become a leading institution in the field of higher education reforms, thereby enabling us to increase the level of education in the republic,” said TigranSargsyan.
