“The gardener has collected fruits and vegetables and put them in a box in his garden. Now you must assort them according to the taste - sweet, sour, spicy – and put them in the

corresponding basket,” Christine Hovsepyan, a third-year student of the Faculty of Special Psychology, said when explaining the rules of the game “Tasty Summer.”
“The game intended for children with special needs aims to reveal the sense of taste in young schoolchildren and accordingly to organize the game in a verbal or some other form,” adds the future special educator.
The main purpose of the game [invented by Lilit Tovmasyan] is to develop the sense of touch, aesthetic taste and way of thinking in children with special needs. The items are made of natural raw material.
One can see similar handmade games at the exhibition organized by the Faculty of Special Psychology.

The idea of opening the exhibition came during the lessons of Surdopsychology which aimed to promote with the help of games the development of children with hearing impairment and limited abilities.
“The games are both corrective and developing. They will help develop children’s cognitive abilities, as well as higher mental functions - attention, thinking, memory, sense of taste, imagination, sense of touch and visual perception,” said the organizer of the exhibition, surdopedagogue Svetlana Muradyan.
She is convinced that the games will also help develop the verbal respiration which is highly important at pre-school age.
The Dean of the Faculty of Special Education Armenuhi Avagyan, who has developed a good tradition of combining theory

and practice, attaches special importance to similar exhibitions.
“Our profession requires skills and imagination. Many students say they would like to play games during the practical
training. This is a good opportunity to use in practice handmade teaching aids and material and learn from each other,” she said.
The dean of the faculty says the exhibition will also help prepare qualified specialists for educational and medical institutions.
