Armenian State Pedagogical University (ASPU) continues to host its friends within the framework of events marking the 90th anniversary of the University. This time, the University

hosted Ashot Jazoyan, a Russia-based producer, screenwriter, author of numerous programmes and feature films, General Secretary of the International Confederation of Journalists’ Unions.
ASPU Rector Rouben Mirzakhanyan handed over Ashot Jazoyan a medal symbolizing the 90th anniversary of the University.
“Ashot Jazoyan arrived in Armenia to attend “At the Foot of Mount Ararat” media forum. Heads and journalists of Russia’s leading media outlets are holding master classes for Armenian journalists.
I am proud that Russian specialists have been given an opportunity to recognize Armenia and its people thanks to you,” he said.
Rouben Mirzakhanyan also thanked Ashot Jazoyan for the master class he held for the students of the Department of Television and Radio Journalism earlier last week.

“I got acquainted with Mr Mirzakhanyan about 30 years ago. He was a bright representative of the young generation of intellectuals. I am glad that today he heads the Pedagogical University which bears the name of the great Armenian enlighter, writer and pedagogue Khachatur Abovyan. The Armenian reality feels the lack of people like Rouben Mirzakhanyan,” Ashot Jazoyan said without concealing his excitement.
The prominent media expert says he is fascinated by the insatiable thirst for knowledge which he has observed among ASPU students. “I am ready to cooperate with the Pedagogical University. Together, we can organize open lectures to be delivered by leading specialists. Besides, the University students can undergo a one-week professional practice in Russia,” he added.
Ashot Jazoyan toured the University building and visited its newly opened museum. He also expressed a desire to transfer Khacahtur Abovyan’s bust [carved by his grandfather Nikolay Nikoghosyan] from the University of Tartu to the Pedagogical.
