From 11-12 December, the Pedagogical University is welcoming Tempus MAHATMA (Master in Higher Education Management: Developing Leaders for Managing Educational

Transformation) project counterparts.
The kick –off event of the project will take place at the Armenian State Pedagogical University (Scientific Council Conference Hall, 17 Tigran Mets, 3rd floor) on 11 and 12 December. The EU, Armenian and Georgian counterparts in the corresponding fields will present their institutions involved in the project, together with the project’s main aims, activities and particular objectives.
The abovementioned overall management issues will discuss both financial and technical aspects.
Within the framework of the project “Master in Higher Education Management: Developing Leaders for Managing Educational Transformation” corresponding qualifications, learning outcomes, matching assessment system, teaching and learning methodology, as well as professional qualification improvement programmes have already been developed.
Lecturers both from the ASPU and the beneficiary universities take part in the project activities.
In addition, from the list of the Eastern Neighborhood countries Armenia and Georgia were included into the project. The following are the institutions participating from the Armenian side: Armenian State Economic University, Vanadzor State Pedagogical University, Goris State University, National Center for Professional Education Quality Assurance (ANQA), RA Ministry of Science and Education; and from the Georgian side - the Ilia State University, the International Black Sea University, Batoumi Shota Rustavelli State University, The Akaki Tseretelli State University, the National Center for Education Quality Enhancement, the Ministry of SE of Georgia.
Within the framework of the project, the Pedagogical University is cooperating with following 6 European countries; Germany (Koblenz-Landau University), France (Centre International d'Etudes Pedagogiques de Servres), Czech Republic (Masarykova Univerzita), Italy (Centro Studi ed Initiative Europeo), Great Britain (Bath Spa University and Middlesex University).
For effective realization of activities, a Professional Association of Educationalists was created at the Pedagogical University being run by the Vice Chancellor of Distance and Additional Learning Tigran Ayvazyan.
Let us also remind that the Tempus MAHATMA (Master in Higher Education Management: Developing Leaders for Managing Educational Transformation) project was launched on 15 October 2012; and now, the grantholder Armenian State Pedagogical University is coordinating the whole process of the project activities, and this is, in fact, an unprecedented occasion in the course of history of Armenian universities.
The duration of the project is 36 months; its end is foreseen on 14 October 2015. In case of effective project implementation, Education Management professional course will be introduced at the Pedagogical University.
