The Tempus “Master in Higher Education Management: Developing Leaders for Managing Educational Transformation” project activities held at the Pedagogical University on 11,
12 December is now concluded.
During the two working days partners from the EU, Armenia and Georgia presented their institutions, activities, main aims of involvement in the project.
In order to implement the activities in a more transparent and well-arranged way, the Parties discussed a number of organizational and financial issue on the second day of the meeting.
The Management Council formed within the framework of the project is headed by the Chancellor of the Pedagogical University, Doctor of Historical Sciences, Professor Rouben Mirzakhanyan. One representative from each participant institution is included into the Council. During the first sitting the Parties mainly spoke about several financial and technical issues.
“Surely the Project was successfully launched; the feedbacks of our European partners serve as a proof. They highlighted the high level of organization of the project, as well as the professional competence of the specialists involved,” the Vice Chancellor of Distant and Additional Education of the Pedagogical, also the working group leader Tigran Avagyan mentioned in his conversation to the armspu.am.
Afterwards, the representative of the working group, the Head of the International Cooperation Department Christine Tsaturyan agreed with the latter as follows, “I am pretty sure that this project, which had great success in the European states, especially in Great Britain will guarantee the same result here in Armenia. Within the scope of the project, the Pedagogical is cooperating with the lead universities of Great Britain Middlesex and the Bath Spa Universities. Our partners from Great Britain are very skillful and have a rich experience in this sphere. The representative of the Bath Spa University, who will be coordinating the final results of the Master program, was greatly satisfied with the professional potential of our specialists.
More to the point, Christine Tsaturyan added that the Department of Education Management would be created in the Pedagogical University within the framework of the current project, where managers and leaders of higher education would be trained.
In addition, a Professional Association of Educationalists will be created within the framework of the project which will deal with problems in the sphere of education. The secretariat functions of the Association will be realized by the Pedagogical University.
Let us also remind that the aim of the project Tempus “Master in Higher Education Management: Developing Leaders for Managing Educational Transformation” is to develop an updated curricula based on learning outcomes, learning outcomes themselves, corresponding assessment system based on the learning outcomes, teaching and learning methodologies. The project duration is 36 months; the intended end of the project is 14 October 2015.
