Teachers for New Schools: Perspectives of Reforms, Theory and Practice of Pedagogical Education,” works continued in a number of sections.
The Co-chairs of the section on “Socio-cultural and Art Education” [underway in the Faculty of Culture] were Hravard Hakobyan, Professor of the Chair of Art History and Theory, Culturology, Doctor of Arts, and Armen Amiryan, Acting Head of the Chair of Television and Radio Journalism, Associate Professor.

Gagik Sukiasyan, Head of the Chair of Library Science and Bibliography, Doctor of Pedagogical Sciences, Professor, spoke on the theme “Interconnection between Higher Education in Library and Information Science and Pedagogy.”
He stressed that undergraduate (Bachelor's and Master's degree) students, depending on their professional activities, goal orientation and career aspirations, should be able to implement and solve a number of problems.
Speaking about the interconnection between Library Science, Bibliography and Bibliology, Mr Sukiasyan said, “The interconnection is apparent in the social sector where different methods of education and upbringing are applied.

data provided by Library Science, Bibliography and Bibliology.” He also referred to the condition of libraries during the Artsakh liberation war and at the post-war period, noting that the war destroyed at least 220 libraries, with book funds being looted or burnt.
Anahit Muradyan, Assistant at the Chair of Library Science and Bibliography, Candidate of Philological Sciences, delivered a comprehensive report on “From the Manuscript Culture in Jerusalem.”
Master’s degree student of the same Chair, Shogher Hunanyan, touched upon the history of Artsakh periodicals, speaking about the first published books and periodicals of the country. The reporter emphasized the importance of appreciating and preserving printed media, books and libraries. “The periodical press in Artsakh emerged more than 138 years ago which is an expressive and serious argument in the unresolved conflict between Azerbaijan and the Nagorno-Karabakh (Artsakh) Republic in order to present objective clarifications to the international community,” she said.
Candidate of Arts, Associate Professor Mary Yerznkyan made an interesting report on the psychological essence of optimism of Martiros Saryan’s still lifes.” She analyzed the optimistic nature of Saryan’s paintings, especially still lifes, and emphasized the role of genre in the context of artist’s creative thinking. “Saryan’s art with its positive elements is a must for modern Armenian society,” she stressed.
Ara Hakobyan, Head of the Chair of Art History, Theory and Culturology, Candidate of Arts, Associate Professor, reported on the theme, “Stepanos Dashtetsi: Prominent Personality in Armenia’s Fine Arts in the 17 th-18th Centuries.” He expressed concerns that today ordinary painters are more popular with the public than classical painters. This served as a reason for specialists to study and present to the audience the life and activity of artists who are less famous but have had great role and importance in the fine arts.
Anush Yeghiazaryan, Head of the Chair of Design, Decorative and Applied Art, Doctor of Pedagogical Sciences, Professor, referred in her report to the prerequisites for success in reaching out to clothing brands. “Fashion is considered to be the third-largest business in the world after oil and food industries,” she said.
She says the fashion industry is not fully developed in Armenia and is even risky in view of starting business. Anush Yeghiazaryan also spoke about effective brand management, presented the historical background of several top brands, as well as the results of a study conducted in 118 multi-brand and 37 mono-brand stores. To become a marketable brand the company should meet international standards, run good and literate advertisements, present its products and services in an original way and have a number of other vital characteristics which ensure the brand’s access to the international market and secure its unique place there.
In her report, the Acting Head of the Chair of Theory of Music, its Teaching Methods and Musical Instruments, Associate Professor Margarita Baghdasaryan spoke about Avetik Isahakyan’s poetry in the vocal works of Georgy Sviridov. She presented two works by Sviridov written on the words of Isahakyan’s verses. “Sviridov loved and studied Armenia, its history and culture. In his works, he showed the depth of content of Isahakyan’s poetry,” she stressed.
Artashes Baburyan, Acting Head of the Chair of Conducting and Voice Production, spoke about Auftakt (upbeat) as a means to lead the choir.
Gevorg Tadevosyan, Dean of the Faculty of Culture, Candidate of Pedagogical Sciences, Professor, reported on the theme “Leisure in Ancient Times and Constant Values,” and Garegin Gevorgyan, lecturer of the Chair of Operatorship, Artistic Photography and Socio-cultural Activity, referred to the infrastructures and development trends of the socio-cultural sphere. Sargis Elbakyan, Dean of the Faculty of Art Education, Candidate of Pedagogical Sciences, Associate Professor, delivered an interesting and important report on “The Role of Modern Music in the Musicological Training of Students.”
At the end of the conference, Co-chair of the section Armen Amiryan congratulated the attendees on their participation and on the 90th anniversary of the University. He expressed a desire for similar conferences to be held more frequently, but with narrow thematic specialization, in-depth professional discussions and serious conclusions. Mr Amiryan also congratulated the presentees on the upcoming public holidays [Christmas and New Year] and wished them all the best.
