A unique Christmas tree ‘was built’ at the Pedagogical University during today’s event organized by the Department of Educational Development and Quality Assurance in

partnership with the University’s Student Council. The Christmas tree was made of different books donated by the University staff and students.
“The initiative aimed to encourage reading of printed books and highlight the importance of knowledge. Book itself is a symbol of knowledge, and reading is an important component of the knowledge-based society. We need educated students and young people to ensure the political, economic and social development of the society,” said Christina Tsaturyan, Head of the International Cooperation Department.

At least 300 books have been donated to the University for charitable purposes. On January 28, when Armenians are celebrating the formation of the armed forces, the books will be given to a military unit.
Students of the Faculty of Culture conveyed holiday breath to the event with their beautiful dance and music performances, with Yura Abrahamyan, a student of Faculty of Art Education, painting the entire process.
Donation of books is continuing at the University: everyone interested in the move can donate books till January 28.
With the initiative, the Pedagogical University once again emphasized the role of books in the education and upbringing of generations.
