Students Live the Life of a Soldier for a Day
27.12.2012
At the initiative of the Student Council of the Faculty of History and Jurisprudence, the first-year students of the Department of Law visited a military unit stationed in Lusakert. The visit

was organized at the threshold of New Year holidays.

The students received a warm welcome in the military unit. Colonel Mkrtchyan, Deputy Commander responsible for the work with the personnel, stressed the importance of similar initiatives, saying they help strengthen the ties between the army and society. “The visit was a real surprise for us; the university students are trying [for the first time] to live the life of a soldier, at the same time making their daily routine more interesting. Many of our soldiers are students and graduates of different universities; they are closely connected with science and books,” he said.

The students spent most of the day in the military unit, walked around the area with the soldiers and got familiarized with the life of the military unit.

Later, the students dined at the military canteen and declared their surprise for the soldiers: the guests donated to the military unit about 200 books collected at their initiative.

At the end of the visit, the sides agreed to start a good tradition of organizing similar meetings and arrange joint scientific and entertainment events.
