The end of 2012 was fruitful for the Spyurq (Diaspora) Research and Training Center of the Pedagogical University. A few days before New Year's Eve the Writers' Union hosted the

presentation of a two-volume book by Gevorg Achemyan, an outstanding representative of Armenian Diaspora Literature and founder of ASALA.
The book entitled “Artistic Works” was published thanks to the joint efforts of Vera Achemyan, the wife of Mr Achemyan, and Suren Danielyan, Director of the Spyurq Center, Doctor of Philology and Professor.
The event was attended by Levon Ananyan, Chairman of the Writers Union of Armenia, Samvel Muradyan, Head of the Chair of Armenian Literature at Yerevan State University, Doctor of Philology and Professor, Ruben Sakapetoyan, Head of the Chair of Armenian Language, YSU, Doctor of Philology and Professor, lecturers Kim Aghabekyan, Serzh Srapionyan, art critic and theatre expert Levon Mutafyan, Manvel Adamyan (from London), the author’s brother Azat Achemyan (from Washington), Vera Achemyan, children and relatives of the writer, and students of the Pedagogical University.
The attendees shared their memories about the writer.

“With his arrival, Gevorg Achemyan brought a breath of fresh air to Armenia. He came to take his place among the great writers. He is a writer who unwittingly threw off the mask of the clown,” Suren Danielyan said in his opening remarks. “His wife, Mrs. Vera, transferred to us the blaze of her husband’s soul, realizing his dream,” he continued.
“Achemyan was a man who spoke little about his merits but he was hard-working and creative,” said Manvel Adamyan.
The event ended with the words of the writer: “Writer’s best judge is the public.”
