The Pedagogical University regularly hosts discussions, workshops, conferences and symposia on environmental issues.
Recently, a TEMPUS-initiated meeting with representatives of eight higher education establishments, non-governmental organizations and research institutes was held at the University.
The attendees discussed one of the pivotal projects which relates to the environmental sphere and its problems.
Lana Karlova, National TEMPUS office coordinator in Armenia, presented the format of projects to be submitted to TEMPUS VI, the main directions, regulations, funding, project duration and deadlines.
She also introduced to the attendees Christoph Mehrens, explorer, environmentalist and representative of the German Association for Scientific Diving.
The latter is interested in establishing contact with his Armenian counterparts and developing [with them] a project proposal for TEMPUS. The specialist will also contribute to the development and strengthening of relations with the German side within the framework of TEMPUS programme and outside it.
During the meeting the participants started a heated discussion to find out how different institutions react to environmental issues and what approaches and recommendations they offer for the project implementation.
On the sidelines of the visit, Christoph Mehrens will also visit other institutions to discuss the avenues of cooperation within the framework of TEMPUS programme.
