New SC President Elected

Today, the Students Council special session took place at the Pedagogical University; the topic on the session’s agenda was the election of the SC President.

 
 
Among those present at the session were the Vice Chancellor of Science and Postgraduate Education, Candidate of Legal Sciences, Associate Professor Ara Yeremyan, as well as the presidents and members of the SC and the SSS.
 
 
The Vice Chancellor Ara Yeremyan emphasized the activities of students’ societies and said “Students are the most important circle of the University. Due to the Students Council we recorded serious improvements which rouse both our and the country’s rating. The SC president must contribute to the involvement of students into the management of the University, educational process and teaching activities with his daily work.”
 
 
Afterwards, Volodya Gasparyan, who has headed the Student Council since 2008, presented the work he fulfilled in times of his presidency.  
 
 
The latter spoke about the achievements and outlined the importance of students involvement in the SC work and mentioned, “Students Councils are newly formulating and developing structures. And due to acting jointly and keeping the already formulated traditions, we were announced the “Best Students Council” in 2009 and 2011. In course of its activities the SC always protected students’ interests and rights, trying to involve into its lines as many students as possible. We differed with our ideas, approaches and programmes. The cooperation with the Armenian Apostolic Church and the RA Armed Forces is the brightest proof of our work”.
 
 

In addition, Volodya Gasparyan urged to continue the formed traditions and with the help of various activities to contribute to raising the University’s rating, making the students’ daily life interesting and meaningful. 
 
 
 Further on passing to the election of the SC President, the 71 present members unanimously nominated the candidacy of the second –year MA student of the Faculty of Mathematics, physics and informatics, the Vice President of the Students Council Nersik Margaryan.
 
As a result of an open voting, the latter assumed the abovementioned position. 
 
 
The new SC President expressed his gratefulness for the trust mentioning, “From 2005 on, I have been a member of the Students Council. It has already become a native structure where I worked with great devotion. And now, I promise to continue the work of my predecessors and to justify the students’ expectations.”
 
 
And last but not least, as suggested by Volodya Gasparyan, the president of the SC of the Faculty of Education Psychology and Sociology Davit Alexanyan was appointed on the position of the Vice President of the Students Council.
