Some 75 students of the Pedagogical University, including the best readers of 2012 and students with excellent academic performance, had a rest in Aghavnadzor-based Teaching and Training Center of the Pedagogical University from February 4 to 8. During the four-day rest the students had a busy routine, participating in numerous sports competitions, entertainment programs and games.
All conditions were provided for the students to have a complete rest in Aghavnadzor: they stayed in warm and comfortable rooms, were delivered delicious and fresh-prepared meals three times a day and were introduced to interesting games. The University’s security officers ensured the safety of the students.
“This is a unique way to encourage students and promote their academic advancement,” said Lecturer Suren Barseghyan, Deputy Head of the Chair of Chess and Sports, who organized all sports competitions and coordinated the students’ routine during the four days.
During their stay in Aghavnadzor, the students organized competitions in checkers, chess, backgammon and tennis, with the best players receiving diplomas.
Great is the contribution of the Student Council [on behalf of Chairperson of the Committee on Culture Lusine Piroyan] to the organization of students’ leisure in the best possible way.
Talking to armspu.am, Chairman of the Student Council Nersik Margaryan claimed the students were content with the holidays and unanimously said ‘they had a wonderful rest before the studies.’
The games and other entertainment events were not only peasant but also useful for the students. An intellectual game conest was held on the last day which proved once again that the University’s Training Center was hosting smart and knowledgeable students.
Speaking about the busy routine the students also expressed their gratitude for the fresh and varied menu, stressing that everything was so good that ‘many felt at home.’
Assistant chef Anna Mkrtchyan assured us that all dishes were made with great love and care and they tried to follow the tips for healthy eating.
Mariam Ghazaryan, an 11th-grade student of the Pedagogical University’s Basic (High-School) College, says she had an unforgettable rest at the Training Centre. Mariam learnt a lot of new things from her senior friends.
As usual, the students returned from Aghavnadzor with vivid impressions, good memories and resoluteness to do their utmost in order to be encouraged by the University again.
