The Armenian National Library published a book named “The Libraries of Armenia 2011” which represents the statistic data on the public libraries of 2011.

The book includes information on the visitors of both the 16 state university libraries and the country’s national, public, regional, municipal, rural and musical libraries in 2011.

According to the statistics, the ASPU scientific library is holding the first place; in 2011 it had 16 596 readers and during the year it provided circulation of 2 206 622 printed works.
Furthermore, the Scientific Library after Sargis and Mari Izmiryan of the Yerevan State University is holding the second place the second place with 15 000 readers, 1 900 610 works circulation; the State medical University after Mkhitar Heratsi continues the list holding the third place with its 5650 readers and 185 467 circulated pieces.

“As a matter of fact, the misestimating or the inaccurate calculations of the visitors to the ASPU scientific library did not allow mentioning the exact number of those using the library services. But today, we have filled in this lack, and the visitors of the library come with their library cards, register and by the end of the day the quantity of the visits is summarized, thus the number of the visitors is defined,” the Director of the ASPU Scientific Library Tigran Petrosyants mentioned in his conversation with the armspu.am
The latter has been in charge of the Library for five ongoing years and today, he conditions the fact of being the first and the leader both with the correct estimation of numbers and the well-arranged and devoted work of the service staff.

Last but not the least, in addition to the ASPU lecturers and students, the library also serves for around 2000 students of other universities.
