ASPU Hosts Swedish Bologna Expert

Janerik Lundquist, a Swedish Bologna Expert, a representative of Linköping University, conducted a presentation on Bologna Reforms and National Qualifications Framework at

 Armenian State Pedagogical University after Khachatur Abovyan. 
 
 Lana Karlova, Coordinator of National Tempus Office in Armenia, introduced the guest speaker to the audience. 
 
This is the second working visit of the Swedish specialist to Armenia. The visit was arranged within the framework of Tempus program.
 
In his speech, Mr Janerik Lundquist referred to the Bologna Process in European countries, presenting the ongoing measures and steps aimed at making higher education qualifications recognizable, understandable and comparable for other countries. 
 
The expert stressed the importance of student-centered learning process; when transferring your knowledge to students you should consider their needs, which implies creating an appropriate learning environment for students.
 
 “Students should be able to perceive the material correctly; their analytical abilities and skills should be formed during the lesson,” said Mr Lundquist. 
 
 Through the vivid example of his practice, he showed the structure of a lesson, its preparation, process and effectiveness which is determined by analyzing the final results. 
 
Christina Tsaturyan, Head of the Department of International Cooperation, said they had invited the Swedish expert to the University to raise awareness of Armenian specialists.
 
“Representatives of the sphere should be aware of European achievements in higher education qualifications. Our education programs will be built on the basis of national characteristics and qualifications which, in turn, will be compatible with the European Qualifications Framework,” she said. 
 
At the end of the meeting, representatives of ASPU, National Academy of Sciences, Ministry of Education and Science, Union of Employers and other universities asked Janerik Lundquist questions about the Bologna Process in other countries.
