Mirzakhanyan first congratulated those who had birthdays, and then awarded two Professors diplomas to the candidates nominated for the academic titles.
Addressing the newly formed Board composition, the Chancellor assured that the first five years the Board activities will stimulate the development of pedagogical sciences, and the University will have their major contribution in emphasizing the national values.
Further on, the Chancellor presented the report on structural reforms procedure to the Board. He introduced the newly formed departments, as well as the functions of the most important bodies of the University-the Vice Chancellors’ new activities.

In addition, while speaking about the internationalization of the University, Rouben Mirzakhanyan particularly emphasized the introduction of the “Mulberry” e-government system, as well as the transformation of the Internships, Postgraduate and Professional Qualification Improvement departments into units. “The policy of the University for education quality improvement is one- to base on the national educational development peculiarities and not to stick to the Scandinavian or Western countries experience”.
In his turn, the Vice Chancellor of Personnel and International Cooperation Ara Yeremyan spoke about the necessity of application of the information technologies in the University.
He mentioned that in near future the University will have internal electronic channels which will also be introduced into the electronic government system of educational processes.
“It is important to continue the generation of the electronic system for educational processes, its installment, piloting and the fluent transition into management with the application of higher technologies in the coming academic year of 2013/14. Besides, we try to provide the University’s technical-material stuff required for the radio and TV production, to add the number of radio and TV programs and the University’s official website updating activities,” Ara Yeremyan mentioned.
The next in turn issue on the agenda was the election of the Dean of the Faculty of Mathematics, Physics and Informatics.

The only candidate nominated for the position of the Dean of Mathematics, Physics and Informatics, the Acting Dean of the Faculty, Acting Associate Professor Gagik Demirkhanyan assumed the abovementioned position as a result of a secret ballot. The latter introduced the Faculty activities, the actual problems and the planned activities.
Afterwards, titles of the Associate Professor were conferred on lecturers of the Department of Foreign Languages Teaching and Methodology Lilya Balasanyan, the Assistant of the Department of Direction Ashot Hambardzumyan, the Lecturer of the Department of Pre-School Pedagogy and Methodologies Karine Hovakimyan, the Lecturer of the Department of Social-Economic Geography and Geography Teaching Methods Marine Matoyan and the Lecturer of the Department of Professional Education and Applied Pedagogy Karine Papikyan. Likewise, the Associate Professor of the Department of Camera Work, Artistic Photography and Social-Cultural Activities Garnik Hovakimyan received the academic title of Professor.
During the sitting, the Academic Board approved the decision of the Faculty of Primary Education Council to rename the Department of Armenian Language and Elementary Teaching Methodology into the Department of Native Language and its Teaching Methods after Ashot Ter-Grigoryan.
In addition, the University’s Postgraduate Admissions Regulation was also approved, together with 3 Candidate and 1 Doctorate dissertation subjects and works submitted for printing.
Other current issues were also discussed during the session.
