“Only an honest soul can take a pen in his/her hand,” Candidate of Philological Science, President of the Union of Writers, Abgar Apinyan, said when welcoming the members of

the newly-opened Literary Studio.
Addressing the participants of the first meeting of the Literary Studio, the literary critic advised contemplating over several serious issues: Who is a writer? What will happen to the literature that will be created by the members of the Literary Studio? What is the credence of the Studio members and is there a cultural crisis? The head of the Literary Studio added that every creative person is supposed to know the answer to these questions.
A welcome speech was also delivered by the Director of the Scientific Library, Tigran Petrosyants, who, as Abgar Apinyan said, was the soldier who defended his Homeland with weapon and pen.
Mr Petrosyants stressed the creation of the studio, calling it ‘a harbor for creative souls.’ “In the process of composing people should have guidelines and pass through such conditions which will further underline the free speech of a poet,” he said.
The participants were also given an opportunity to get acquainted with each other. The author of numerous poems, a second-year master's student in the Faculty of Art Education, Jora Hakobyan, was invited to join the Literary Studio by Tigran Petrosyants. Jora kindly accepted the invitation. He considers the creation of the Literary Studio to be a great cultural undertaking and says he is honoured to be a member of the Studio.
The Director of the Scientific Library informed the attendees that the anthology of the best writings will be published by the yearend in case the Scientific Studio works effectively.
At the end of the meeting, Abgar Apinyan called on the participants to invite their acquaintances engaged in creative work to the Literary Studio where ‘all participants are in the same boat.’
The classes of the Scientific Studio will be held every Wednesday in the reading-hall of the Humanitarian Literature.
