Today, the eleventh British Film Festival was opened with the screening of the film Fish Tank. On this occasion, the Pedagogical University welcomed the Ambassador of Great

Britain Mr. Jonathan Aves together with other high rank employees.
The guests were greeted by the University Chancellor Rouben Mirzakhanyan. The latter emphasized the importance of the start of the ceremony at the Pedagogical University and mentioned that the University educates not only pedagogues, also specialists in the field of television, radio, cinema and other disciplines. Besides, the Chancellor also underlined that major attention is granted to preparing specialists in foreign languages in this University, especially specialists of English language; this will give he graduates an opportunity to get involved in European academies more easily.
Further on, Rouben Mirzakhanyan gifted the 90th anniversary Jubilee Medal of the Pedagogical University to Jonathan Aves.

In his turn, the Ambassador of Great Britain considered it a great honour to receive the medal and mentioned, “We highly appreciate the fact that one of the higher educational establishments of Armenia expressed the will to screen British films.”
As the Ambassadors considers, this screening will strengthen the cultural links between the two countries serving grounds for a stronger cooperation.
While holding an office in Armenia, Jonathan Aves noticed that there are a lot of talented young people, who, after watching these films, may establish new connections with British professionals and will be able to fully use their potential.
We would also like to mention that the UN General Assembly announced the year 2013 of international water cooperation. And the British film festival joined this initiative and arranged British films screening first in districts then in military units.
