Pedagogues Showcase their Gobelin Artworks

Recently, an exhibition of tapestries (gobelin) entitled “A Coil of Life” opened at the Teryan Cultural Centre in Yerevan. 
 

Naira Tangamyan and Karine Makartichan, Lecturers of the Chair of Design and Decorative-applied Art, Faculty of Art Education, exhibited 22 tapestry works. 
 
The young painters showed the students and gobelin lovers the possibilities of Gobelins Art, the colour game created with the help of thread, welcomed the arrival of spring and congratulated women on their beautiful holiday marked in this season of the year.   
 
The exhibition was attended by Karen Aghamyan, President of the Artist's Union of Armenia, Arushan Hakobyan, President of the Teryan Cultural Center, Shirak Torosyan, Chairman of the Javakhk Compatriotic Union, Professor Anush Yeghiazaryan, Doctor in Pedagogy, Head of the Chair of Design and Decorative-applied Art, and numerous students. 
 
In her speech, Anush Yeghiazaryan said the exhibition seemed to be aimed at preserving and transferring to young generations the art of her father – Honoured Artist of Armenia Karapet Yeghiazaryan.
 
 The professor emphasized the application of new technologies in Gobelins Art by the authors and their new approach to Art. She wished the young painters new exhibitions and creative success.
