The Student Councils and Dean’s Offices of the ten faculties organized the cleaning, waste disposal and improvement of green places in the vicinity of the University’s six buildings and in the capital’s Ring Park.
Head of the University’s Economic Department, Vladimir Mshetsyan, who coordinated the clean-up operations, said they had prepared for the clean-up together with the Municipality earlier in the week. He also said that the Municipality had honoured the University’s request to plant trees in the neighbouring area, trim and prune shrubs and other greenery.
Summing up the work, Vladimir Mshetsyan said that besides cleaning the auditoriums, the buildings and the neighbourhood, they also cleaned the façades of buildings, repaired lighting systems and national symbols.
Armen Tamazyan, Vice-rector for General Affairs, followed the entire process of the clean-up. During the work, he noticed that the students and professors participated in the process with great enthusiasm and without coercion.

“Popularity is not as important as the desire to participate. I am sure that our students will later transfer to their pupils the good tradition of cleaning, improving and beautifying the city, thereby educating active citizens,” the Vice-rector said in conversation with armspu.am.
The Faculty of Biology, Chemistry and Geography stood out with its activity: since early morning the dean of the faculty, lecturers and heads of chairs had been rearranging the cabinets and laboratories and coordinating the work of the students.
Although the University’s canteen is cleaned up every week, its employees also joined the move, tiding up the entire area of the canteen.
Let us mention that the Pedagogical University has always participated in city clean-up operations.
