Today, the event headed “Through our Poetry, Music and Rain” announced the start of the manuals held within the framework of Francophonie days at the Pedagogical .
Among those present at the event there were the Plenipotentiary Ambassador of France in Armenian Henri Reynaud, the Advisor on Francophone Issues to the RA Minister of Foreign Affairs, Ambassador Christian Ter-Stepanyan, the University Chancellor Rouben Mirzakhanyan , the teaching –professorial team and students.
During his welcome speech Henri Reynaud highlighted that visits to the Pedagogical University were always greatly expected by him, “A university is the exceptional institution, where the Francophonie days are not limited with seminars and conferences, but are also marked with a diversity of cultural events, and the most loving confession of love by the youth which makes this celebration really unforgettable”.
Besides, during the whole event a group of students of the Faculty of Foreign Affairs and other faculties sent the spirit of France by the performance of French music, dances and poetry to all the guests, introduced them with French culture and its peculiarities.
“Our University is not white-handed from around 350 events arranged within the framework of the Francophonie days in Armenia. We also had a chance to express our love towards French language and the Francophonie values of universal significance. Activities performed in the rain once again proved that love and rain are extremely similar; both of them come very unexpectedly and you just need to decide whether to get wet through or to shelter under an umbrella”, the Head of the ASPU Department of Romanic Languages Donara Ghazaryan stated.
In addition the latter expressed with content that knowledge of languages, the effectiveness of teaching them is in the focus of attention of the University authorities. Year after year, the number of students knowing French and having overcome the language obstacles, who also do not surrender to students of other linguistic universities, marks obvious increase.
By the end of the event, the University Chancellor Rouben Mirzakhanyan considered it a great honour to welcome the ambassador at the University and confessed that even when you speak the language of love in rain, the Sun starts shining everywhere.
“Such undertakings make us regret not being able to speak French; but I am still glad to notice that most of the students are already able to fluently speak this language. I am pretty sure that many of them will become the best pedagogues and specialists in the field who will also spread French culture in Armenia.”
And last but not least, let us also mention that the events arranged within the framework of the Francophone days at the Pedagogical will continue, and students from all the faculties will make reports in near future.
