KHACHATUR ABOVYAN ARMENIAN STATE PEDAGOGICAL UNIVERSITY

Today, a modern reading-hall was opened in the third building of the Pedagogical University; among those present at the official opening ceremony of the reading- hall there were

 the University Chancellor Rouben Mirzakhanyan, the Deputy Heads of the Armenian office of “Rossotrudinichestvo” Federal Agency, the First Secretaries of the Russian Federation Embassy in RA Mark Kalinin and Igor Kusov, the Deputy Head of Educational Programmes Natalia Yeryemenko, the Coordinator of the Russian Educational –Methodological Center of Russian language enlightening programmes Sona Sarajyan, as well as the teaching professorial team and the students of the Pedagogical University.   

 

To begin with, the University Chancellor, Doctor of Historical Sciences, Professor Rouben Mirzakhanyan greeted the guests and expressed his acknowledgements in the name of students and professors for presenting around 770 books to the Pedagogical University. “The University is powerful with its library. The volumes of Russian literature gifted to the reading-hall have a priceless significance; books are permanent and the most powerful value.”

 

“Books have special, inexplicable charm and interest,” the Chancellor assured calling for the students and lecturers to use all the facilities of the reading –hall.

 

Moreover, Mark Kalinin, the Deputy Head of the Armenian office of “Rossotrudinichestvo” Federal Agency, the First Secretary of the Russian Federation Embassy in RA, congratulated those presents and said, “The opening of such a reading-hall is a real holiday for the University, it is like a media-center filled with modern facilities.”

 

Further on, the Director of the Scientific Library of the University Tigran Petrosyants spoke about the new reading-hall and informed that there are around 7500 books, 11 computers, linear and air ultra-speedy internet and other technical facilities.

 

“Only a reading man has a future,” the Director of the Library added calling for love and careful treatment with books that educate generations.

 

In addition, in near future several reading-halls are planned to open at the Pedagogical University.
