Christ is Risen!
Truly, He is Risen!
Lecturers and four-year students of the Faculty of Culture, Department of Management, congratulated one another with these words on the occasion of the Easter Feast, a Christian festival celebrating the Glorious Resurrection of Jesus Christ on the third day after his crucifixion at Calvary as described in the New Testament.
The students welcomed the guests with a festive table symbolizing the holiday: they had coloured eggs, and made traditional Easter dishes, including fish, rice pilaf and various greens.
They also performed national songs and dances, presented holiday-related commentaries and explained the role and significance of rituals marking the holiday.
“Faith should always be in Armenian hearths. Such events enable us to mark religious holidays, preserving their special traditions,” organizer of the event Robert Avanesyan, who heads the Chair of Camera Work, Art Photography and Sociocultural Activity, told armspu.am.
True to its traditions, the Faculty of History and Jurisprudence also marked the holiday. It has become a good tradition in the Faculty to organize events marking the Easter Feast.
Tigran Khachatryan, Chairman of the Faculty’s Student Faculty, says the event helped the participants understand the sacrament of Easter. He believes that the students will later transfer the importance of maintaining the traditions to their pupils.
