Today, the 2nd year MA students of the Department of Armenian Language and Literature of the Philological Faculty had a meeting with Monk Shahei. The meeting was opened with the Lord’s Prayer.
Further on, in a lecture an attempt was made to determine the relationship between linguistics and theology in the science structure. The fields, which most contribute to get

theology and linguistics closer, were also mentioned.
Considerable importance was given to the current issues, which hinder the strengthening of the relations between theology and linguistics.
Partial reference was made to different periods of Armenian reality, to the question why the matter of the relations between linguistics and theology was actual and equally important in all times.
Monk Shahei gives great significance to this kind of meetings for students, and particularly for future pedagogues.
“Today, the matter of growing up and educating the new generation is a major problem, which is not only to the clerical’s concern, but also to the pedagogue’s.”
He urged the students to show an obligatory participation in such lectures, during which they may gain the rich experience and knowledge of the lecturers. Moreover, meetings with clericals fortify the student-church connection.
The 2nd year MA student Naira Khoumaryan attaches big meaning to such meetings from the professional point of view. “In fact I partially found out for myself the common boundaries of theology and linguistics.”
The Dean of the Philological Faculty Yuri Davtyan assured that lectures and meetings like that would be on continuous basis.
