“A pedagogue must be intelligent enough to be able to educate generations”; this expression by the Soviet pedagogue Anton Makarenko has been leading the Professor of the

Faculty of Foreign Languages, Specialist of German Sciences, and the only Specialist on the Lessing Studies in Armenia Ms. Donara Karapetyan 46 years on.
Under the initiative of the Pedagogical University Faculty of Foreign Languages a jubilee matinee was organized on the 70th anniversary of the professor.
The event dedicated to the author of around 27 scientific works and school textbooks commenced with the film about German poet, playwright Gothold Lessing, which was then followed by the presentation of an extract from the report delivered years ago at one of the leading American universities.
In addition, during the matinee, the professor received congratulations from Ms. Gayanei Samvelyan in the name of the staff of the Library after Avetik Isahakyan and gifted the professor a series of poems. Besides, the student of the Yerevan Komitas State Conservatory Mr. Hovhannes Grigoryan, the graduate of the Musical School after Alexander Spendarian Ms. Julietta Alexanyan performed the “No one knew my sorrow”, “Ave Maria”, “The sea and the night”, “Souvenirs” musical pieces accompanied by the pianist Ms. Anna Qinaktsyan.

As a matter of fact, more than twenty songs by Donara Karapetyan were included into the State Radio “Golden fund”.
Moreover, while speaking about the pedagogical activities Donara Karapetyan mentioned, “The choice of the specialization was not made randomly; in fact being born in the family of pedagogues has left a huge trace”.
When applying the pedagogical skills inherited from the Father, she never restricted her activities with only educating good specialists; she considered it her greatest mission to bring up a good and valuable generation.
And last but not least, we would like to mention that among those present at the jubilee matinée of Donara Karapetyan were the Dean of the Faculty of Foreign Languages Mr. Tigran Mickaelyan, together with the heads of Departments, teaching –professorial team, the university alumni and current students.
