Therapy.”
During the open-air flash mob, the four-year students of the Logopaedics Department once again emphasized [through different games and situations] the importance of speech therapists, stressing their role in the process of formation and development of speech.
In the next stage, the students demonstrated in practice the skills they had acquired during the course of Art Therapy: they made original handmade items from plastic objects which they gave to passersby. In the end, they released hot air balloons to the air.
Future speech therapist Anna Hambardzumyan, who was participating in the event despite her busy schedule and the forthcoming final qualifying exams, was inspired by the lampshades made of plastic bottles and disposable spoons. She has decided to make new and beautiful objects from useless things and use them in her professional activity.

Anna Charchyan, a lecturer at the Chair of Speech Therapy and Rehabilitation Therapy, says embellishing theoretical knowledge with practical lessons is an indispensable part of work for her. The special pedagogue is convinced that the exhibitions of logopaedic deductive materials, handmade items and games organized by the Faculty will help increase public awareness of and interest in the profession. “The flash mob once again helped the students to re-assess the importance of the profession they have chosen and show a more creative approach to it. The booklets and posters distributed to the passersby aimed to raise awareness about the rehabilitation and therapeutic properties of the profession,” she said.
The author of the initiative believes that such undertakings will help in the work with children with special needs, facilitate direct contact and communication with them.
Participating in the event were also Tigran Ayvazyan, Vice Rector for Education Quality and Distance Learning, Armenouhi Avagyan, Dean of the Faculty of Special Education, Zhanna Paylozyan, Head of the Chair of Logopaedics and Rehabilitation Therapy, lecturers and students.
