The Pedagogical University Students’ Council was Acknowledged as the Best Students’ Self-Governing Body

Today the Armenian Youth Foundation held the “Haykyan Awards Ceremony”.
 
 
The welcome speech was made by the Coordinator of the Board of Trustees of the Armenian Youth Foundation, the RA NA deputy, Karen Avagyan.


The “Haykyan Awards Ceremony, which has been held since 2000, actually restores and re-establishes its mission today. It is the country’s assessment of your work.”
 
The Prime Minister of the country, also the President of the University Council of the Armenian State Pedagogical University, Tigran Sargsyan was present at the ceremony, too. The latter congratulated the winners and mentioned the following:
 
“The Awards Ceremony aims to stimulate and encourage the activity and self-organization among the young.”
 
 
The awards set up by the Armenian Youth Foundation were presented to students and youth institutions which best worked and expressed themselves in 2011. The Prime Minister himself awarded the prizes to the winners.
 
The Armenian State Pedagogical University was also present at the Awards Ceremony, where they received the “Best Students Self-Governing Body” award. The President of the Students’ Council of the Pedagogical University Volodya Gasparyan expressed his gratitude to the organizers for appraising their work.
 
“As a matter of fact, the most binding fact is that I receive this prize from the President of my native University’s Governing Council. With this I promise to henceforward work more vigorously to make the University one of the best higher educational establishments in the Republic.” 
 
 
The “Haykyan Awards Ceremony” aims to stipulate the activity of students self-governing bodies, students unique initiatives, the involvement of the young in the science field, the international cooperation, activities in the field of youth political state realization and in other spheres.
 

The “Best International Project” award was given to the International Summer School at the RA Ministry of Education for the project “Bologna after 2010”. The “International Organization that Most Supported the Youth Sector” award was presented to the German political foundation “Konrad Adenawer”; the “Unique Youth Project” award went to the “Miasin(Together)” youth movement for project “Congratulations, dear Mothers”; the “Best Youth Program” was given to the radio station “Azatutyun(Freedom)” for the “Maxliberty” youth program; the “Best Youth NGO in Yerevan” award was granted to the “Armenian National Scouts Movement” NGO.
 
 
The innovation of the year was the “Best Youth Scientific Achievement” category; the award in this category went to Artyom Hovhannisyan for the maximum number of links in international scientific periodicals. 
 
Awards were presented in other categories, too.
