On 15 April, the Standing Committee of Defense of the National Assembly, National Security and Internal Affairs organized parliamentary hearings on the topic “Strengthening the

The sitting was conducted by the Chairman of the Committee Mr. Koryun Nahapetyan.
There were two sessions of hearings- “Institutional Perspective and the Priority of Reforms” and “Civil Society Perspective”.
The President of the Public Council at the Ministry of Defense, Adviser to the Minister of Defense Mr. Gegham Harutyunyan presented in his speech the activities and achievements of the Public Council. The latter also underlined the tight and productive cooperation with the Pedagogical University.

In addition, Mr. Gegham Haroutyunyan particularly mentioned the participation of the University lecturers in the project “Pages of History and Culture”, the regular lectures delivered by the specialists of the Faculty of Education Psychology and Sociology for the officers of the Armed Forces, research programmes, support to the visits of students with the specialization of Military Pedagogy and Psychology for practical lessons, upcoming research on the subject “Social-Psychological Adaptation Problems for Young Officers”, as well as the assistance of the Faculty specialists for the organization of national conference on “Problems of the Military Psychology” planned for May.
During the session the Acting Minister of Defense Mr. Seyran Ohanyan, the Head of the OSCE Armenian office, Ambassador Andrey Sorokin and other high-rank officials made speeches at the session.
Moreover, the Pedagogical University Deputy Dean of Science and Postgraduate Education of the Faculty of Education Psychology and Sociology, Candidate of Pedagogical Sciences, Associate Professor Hakob Tadevosyan also participated in the session at the National Assembly.
