On 16-21 April, the international poetry festival is taking place in Armenia, within the framework of which the Philological Faculty welcomed the Artsakh writers, the President of the
NKR Writers Union Mr. Vardan Hakobyan, Mr. Sokrat Khanayan, Mr. Arkady Tovmasyan, Mr. Hrant Alexanyan and Mr. Robert Yesayan.
During the meeting with the lecturers and students of the Faculty the writers presented their literary pieces; in addition Mr. Sokrat Khanayan gave a new breath to the poetry matinee and performed the “Dle Yaman” and other folk musical pieces on the pipe.
At the end of the meeting the President of the NKR Writers Union, Doctor of Philological Sciences, Professor Vardan Hakobyan expressed his delight with the love of the Pedagogical students towards literature and poetry in particular. “The enthusiastic applauds prove that the Artsakh poetry is loved and popular.”
Further on, the Dean of the Philological Faculty, the Head of the Department of Armenian Literature and its Teaching Methods Ms. Aelita Dolukhanyan, the Director of the Spyur Research Center Mr. Souren Danielyan expressed their acknowledgements to the writers for visiting the Pedagogical University.
The latter also mentioned that there is a deep meaning in the visit of the Karabakh poetic potential; thus, they bequeath the Artsakh color and features in Armenian poetry.
More to the point, Ms. Aelita Dolukhanyan thinks that by presenting their poetry the Artsakh poets present their “tribe heart”; their nature and the heroic soul inspire to write beautiful and unforgettable poems.
To conclude, we would like to mention that Armenia is hosting the international poetry festival for the first time. It was launched at the “Cascade” complex on 16 April gathering around them dozens of writers that arrived from 30 different countries. The festival is arranged by the Armenian Writers Union within the framework of the project “Yerevan-the World Capital of Books” with the assistance of the RA Ministry of Culture.
