19.04.2013
Under the initiative of the Faculty of Primary Education of the Pedagogical University , pupils from the secondary school after Yesayi Asatryan of the Talin Lower Bazmaberd village,

 visited the Pedagogical.

The guests visited the oldest Faculty of the University – the Faculty of Primary Education; together with the MA students of the Department of Pedagogy and Methodology /elementary education/ they participated in the lecture delivered by the Doctor of Pedagogical Sciences, Professor Ms. Julietta Gyulamiryan.

The professor welcomed the guests and introduced them with the University structure, the teaching methods in elementary classes, the peculiarities of Postgraduate education, afterwards presented her subject “Components of Higher Thinking and the Formulation of Linguistic-Communication Abilities at Junior Schools”.

The best student of the year from the Faculty of Primary Education, Ms. Angela Manasyan and her fellow students explained to the pupils the meaning of the term “higher thinking”, then they formed three groups and spoke about the role and the influence of press, television and the Internet on psychological processes and thinking of teenagers.

It was particularly interesting for the students to learn about the correct and wrong forms of presenting the information, its comprehension, and conducting the lessons.

Besides, the pupils participated in practical exercises and realized that everybody have their point of view, opinion and approaches on every issue.

In her turn, Ms. Julietta Gyulamiryan is sure that the lesson helped the pupils to newly rediscover the idea of university education and the interesting angles of a pedagogue’s profession. “I think from now on, they will perceive pedagogy as a field of formulating the human value system and examining it in its depth and will replenish the list of the Abovianians.”

The next step for the pupils was at the University museum; the scientific worker Ms. Tatevik Yesayan helped them to get

familiar with the history of the University, the participation of the Pedagogical in the Patriotic and the Artsakh Wars, and the eminent graduates. The monitors and the posters installed at the Museum gave comprehensive information about the available Faculties and Departments and the University life.

In addition, the pupils were glad to make a tour around the Scientific Library where the Director Mr. Tigran Petrosyants  greeted the guests, introduced them with the reading-hall, the rich stack and the exhibitions presented there.

What is more, on this occasion, Mr. Tigran Petrosyants gifted his authored book “1000 Armenian Generals and Admirals” to the library of the visiting school.

And last but not least, the pupils’ full picture about the University and the students’ daily life was completed by a visit to the University canteen where they tried a variety of tasty meals after which they left the Pedagogical with exciting impressions promising to return already as applicants.
