A few days ago, within the framework of the Tempus 4 project “University-Employer Armenian Coordinating Agency” (“Ararat”), representatives from the Armenian counterpart

universities- the Armenian State Pedagogical University after Khachatur Abovyan, the Russian-Armenian (Slavonic) University, the ASAU and its branches, the Gyumri State Pedagogical Institute after Michael Nalbandyan, the Gavar State University, the Goris State University, as well as the National Center for professional education quality assurance, Armenian National Student Union, the Employers’ Union, the RA Ministry of Education and Science made a business trip to Palermo.
The working group of the Pedagogical University consisted of the Vice Chancellor of Personnel and International Cooperation Mr. Ara Yeremyan, the Head of the Department of Project Development and Monitoring Ms. Rita Gevorgyan, the employee of the Department of International Cooperation Ms. Ruzanna Minasyan.
The aim of the “Ararat” three years national project is to put the higher education requirements of Armenia in line with the needs of the changing labour market through the establishment and operation of the university- employer collaborative network.
The project includes seven working packages. The European Center for Research and Initiatives in Palermo, also the coordinator of the first package, together with their colleagues, arranged trainings on a variety of subjects about the project for the Armenian representatives.
We would also like to mention that the project activities are coordinated by the Armenian State Economic University; and the counterparts are several European organizations such as the Coblenz-Landau University (Germany), Information Technologies Management Institute (Latvia), World University Service- Austrian Union (Austria), Alicante University (Spain) and the Marie-Curie University (Poland).
