Today, the world famous pianist, the winner of numerous international awards, the RA People’s Artist Ms. Svetlana Navasardyan was conferred the “Khachatur Abovyan” gold medal at
the Pedagogical University.
The pianist was greeted by the Director of Culture, the RA Honoured Art Worker, Professor Arkadi Shekunts who introduced the artist as the leader in today’s art of Armenian piano. Referring to her creative path and numerous international achievements, Arkadi Shekunts characterized Ms. Svetlana Navasardyan as a bright creative individual, original and unique, with unsurpassed performing mastery and highlighted her encyclopedic nature.
As a matter of fact, in her creative live, the winner of plenty of international awards has performed musical pieces of renowned composers among which she particularly outlines Chopin’s and Mozart’s works.
During her meeting with the teaching professorial team, musicologists and students, the eminent pianist performed a few of the Chopin’s works, after which she preferred a more direct contact with the amateurs of her art.
Moreover, speaking about the creative path she passed, Ms. Svetlana Navasardyan recalled with a smile her student years, when the doors of all working music schools were closed for her; “ Today, I owe my success to my teachers and parents, my mathematician and singer mother in particular, who believed in my musical abilities and anticipated a great future for me.”
By the end of the meeting, answering the audience’s questions about the future, the pianist frankly mentioned, “The art is the colourful reflection of life; life has as much meaning as we put in it. I have countless wishes and desires; however, I have no more aspiration to conquer heights.” The pianist, who conquered numerous stages, received the warmest applauds and innumerable awards, admitted at the end that she didn’t put up only with the age. She would always like to be young and on the stage.
