Roman Sahradyan, a first-year graduate student of the Faculty of History and Jurisprudence, Armenian State Pedagogical University, has set up a new record.
In the Youth Gymnastic Olympic Sports School after Hrant Shahinyan, the future ljurist performed 50 pull-ups in a minute surpassing the previous record in Armenia – 47 pull-ups.
Talking to armspu.am, the record-holder said he had been preparing for the exercise for one year and expected to show the best result. “I have performed the exercise for the first time. I am not yet familiar with the indicators in the world, but I shall attempt to set new records,” he said.
With confidence peculiar to an athlete, Roman Sahradyan said he would be glad to see someone else ‘leaving him behind’ and breaking a new record. In the meantime, before conquering new heights, he dedicated the victory to the 90th anniversary of ASPU.
Vardan Tovmasyan, Chairman of the Dyutsaznagirq (Book of Heroes) Organization, is impressed, but not surprised by Sahradyan’s record: the latter is a five-time record-holder of Dyutsaznagirq who can still achieve big gains.
