The choirs of musical schools operating in Yerevan and different regions of Armenia performed at the song festival held at the yard of the University’s 3rd building. The conductors of the choirs are graduates of ASPU.
The choirs were greeted by the University’s brass band. ASPU graduates Mher Galstyan, Margarita Gabrielyan, Yana Hovhannisyan, a student of the State Song Theater, pop singers Lena Ghazaryan and Lana Khachatryan, welcomed the children with their performances.

The choirs of Yerevan’s musical schools â„–194, 199, 89, 99, 137, 147 and 155, Etchmiadzin’s musical school â„–4 as well as the musical school of Myasnikyan village in Armavir province, led by choirmasters Heghine Mkrtchyan, Lianna Gevorgyan, Vardouhi Hakobyan, Agapi Madoyan, Grigor Grigoryan, Marietta Karapetyan, Anna Smbatyan, Gayane Madoyan and Rita Grigoryan performed about a dozen works.
Pupils of the Art School after Avet Terteryan also partook at the event with their folk and modern dance performances.
“The Pedagogical University educates song and music teachers for secondary schools, whose work results were also evident at this festival,” said Professor Arkadi Shekunts, Director of the Culture Centre, Honoured Art Worker of Armenia. He added that the annual song festival is an excellent opportunity for disseminating the choral art in Armenia.
