The Pedagogical University Humanitarian Literature reading-hall hosted the presentation of the book “Right to Live” by Garegin Gevorgyan. The book is a 77-pages collection of

poetry.
“Our days’ Armenian Literature is bursting with voluminous nothing-to-say poetry collections. In the current variety of poetry the “Right to Live” is a very typical and characteristic work. Keeping an eye on Garegin’s creative path, we may state that this book is exceptional not only for his works, but also in the field of modern lyric poetry”, mentioned the President of the Writers’ Union, Levon Ananyan in his opening speech.
The author has treated each printed line in the book with immense responsibility and punctiliousness. The three parts form an interesting unity that bares the whole protest and contradictions of our days. The poems presented in the book are some form of refuge for the Sassounian man, his home, his childhood, the memories which help to survive the unpleasant reminiscences.
Many books lack the nowadays rhythm, movement, the spirit of today; while the “Right to Live” shows the trepidations that are typical to the writer who is troubled by his motherland’s fortune.
The editor of the book Tadevos Tonoyan, in the process of editing the book, underlined the author’s way of thinking and the transmission of his emotional state to the reader.
“Such writers should be encouraged, writers who do not wish to see an Armenian as an emigrant in his own country, to see how slaves take victory over their kings. This wonderful generation of uneasy birth should be appraised, and today’s presentation should motivate for other books to be written. This collection confirmed the right of books to live”, added Levon Ananyan.
Garegin Gevorgyan is struggling against the crippled system of values and manners through his pure poetry.
Doctor of Arts, winner of the State Prize, Hravard Hakobyan congratulated his colleague and assured the following, “The readers like poetry, when they understand everything. The language should be simple and descriptive. Through Garegin’s work we receive the idea on which he lived and got excited with.”

Children’s writer Souren Mouradyan also gives the significant importance to the presentation of the book, “This book seems to be a pearl in the flow of poetry. The book has a wonderful description of rural pictures and the longing of childhood.”
Garegin Gevorgan expressed his gratitude to his guests and underlined the following, “If we receive the right to be born from the Above, however, the right to live we deserve in the course of time. I love my country more than the sparkling stones of other countries. I am my country’s child and I live and create in my country in accordance with my time.”
The presentation was marked with the attendance of the University Chancellor, Doctor of Historical Sciences, Professor Rouben Mirzakhanyan, the lecturer-professorial team, and Garegin Gevorgyan’s friends.
