ASPU representatives awarded on the occasion of First Republic Day

Dancing Master Artyusha Karapetyan, a lecturer of the Faculty of Culture of Armenian State Pedagogical University, has been awarded with a 1st degree medal “For Services to the

 Fatherland.” The medal was conferred on the ASPU representative on the occasion of First Republic Day marked in Armenia every year, on May 28. 
 
In 1960-1970, Artyusha Karapetyan worked in the Armenian State Song and Dance Ensemble. In 1965, he was awarded the title of Honored Art Worker of Armenia.
 
In 1970, he worked at the Folk Art Center as Head of the Dance Division, then as a ballet master-researcher of the Dance Division of the Scientific-methodical Center for Folk Art and Cultural-educational Activities of the Ministry of Culture. 
 
In 1974, he became ballet master of the State Ensemble of Dance and Song after Tatul Altunyan. Artyusha Karapetyan has been working at the Faculty of Culture, ASPU, since 1988, teaching Armenian folk dances and ballet master classes. 
The Honored Artist of Armenia is a member of the National Association of Dance and Dance Specialists. Artyusha Karapetyan has headed numerous amateur and folk ensembles, collected, developed and recorded over 250 dances.
 
He devoted the best years of his life to the development and maintenance of the Armenian dance heritage, and invested his extensive experience in the country’s educational system, educating representatives of different generations.  
 
By another decree of the RA President, Ashot Hambardzumyan, a lecturer of Armenian State Pedagogical University, a painter of “Mher Mkrtchyan” Artistic Theatre, received the title of Honoured Artist on the occasion of First Republic Day.
