During the exiting traditional ceremony undergraduate and graduate students of the University who had taken BS and MS degree programs in the full time and distance-learning systems, received their graduation certificates.
Festive atmosphere reigned in all faculties of the University. The Faculty of Education Psychology and Sociology had 317 graduates, including 80 Master’s degree students. Forty-four of them received Diplomas with Honour. The ceremony started with the Armenian national anthem followed by the speech of Ruzanna Petrosyan, Acting Dean of the Faculty of Education Psychology and Sociology, Candidate of Psychological Sciences, Associate Professor, who congratulated the graduates on the occasion. This long-awaited and, at the same time, sad moment signals the logical end of your studies.
“You have assumed a new social status where you are supposed to perform your mission demonstrating your personal qualities and the knowledge you gained during the years of your studies. You should always be with people and on their side, help people and support them, rejoice and sympathize with them. This is the pledge of humanity, this is what your profession and the skills you acquired during your study at the University dictate you to do,” said Ruzanna Petrosyan. She stressed that today the society feels the lack of these specialists more than ever, relies on their help and is waiting for them with open arms.

After handing out the diplomas, the dean blessed the graduates and wished them success. At the same time, she reminded that in life every ending is just a new beginning that must be filled with new surprises. Chairman of the Qualifying Examination Committees, Heads of Chairs, representatives of the professorial-teaching staff and students participated in different events organized by the Faculty’s Student Council that made the day more cheerful and vivacious.
Similar festive and warm atmosphere was felt in the Faculty of Mathematics, Physics and Informatics. The Faculty had 339 graduates, including 90 Master’s degree students. Forty-five graduates received Diplomas with Honour.
Gagik Demirkhanyan, Doctor of Physical and Mathematical Sciences, Dean of the Faculty, also congratulated the students. “The knowledge and skills you have gained in these years will guide you in your future activities and help you find the right solution not only at work, but also in everyday life,” said the dean. Addressing Bachelor’s degree students Mr Demirkhanyan advised them to be goal-oriented and continue studies in the Master’s course, which, as he said, will be a bit difficult but much more interesting.
Before passing to the solemn ceremony, Head of the Chair of Informatics and its Teaching Methods, Professor Mariam Harutyunyan, congratulated the students, wishing them good luck in their future undertakings. “No matter where you go and what you do in your future life I believe that you will become honest and decent citizens of our republic. Be kind, love each other and do not forget us,” she said.
