Festive atmosphere prevailed at the Faculty of Philology as well, although everyone at the Faculty was preparing for the solemn ceremony to be held later in the day. The graduates

were congratulated by Professor Yuri Davtyan, Dean of the Faculty of Philology, Doctor in Philology, Professor Suren Danielyan, Head of the Chair of Modern Armenian Literature and its Teaching Methods, Doctor in Philology, Professor Ruzanna Tadevosyan, Head of the Chair of Russian Philology and its Teaching Methods, Doctor in Philology, Professor Vazgen Hambardzumyan, Head of the Chair of Armenian Language and its Teaching Methods, Doctor in Philology, President of the Student Council Sirarpi Gevorgyan, a graduate of the Faculty who demonstrated excellent academic performance during the years of study, and Professor Rouben Mirzakhanyan, Rector of Armenian State Pedagogical University, Doctor of Historical Sciences.

In his congratulatory speech, Yuri Davtyan cited the words of renowned Armenian writer Hovhannes Tumanyan, wishing the graduates personal happiness and success in life.
Professor Ruzanna Tadevosyan said she was proud of her graduates and Professor Suren Danielyan added that during the years of study they had done their utmost to give their students the maximum – the torch of knowledge and reveal their readiness to pass the torch to next generations. He called the graduates ‘Ambassadors of Literature’ and urged them to ‘try to be fair rather than kind.’
Head of the Chair of Armenian Language and its Teaching Methods, Professor Vazgen Hambardzumyan wished the graduates success in their pedagogical activities while President of the Student Council Sirarpi Gevorgyan wished them patience, willpower and strength, as well as will for self-improvement and self-education.
Further on, ASPU Rector Rouben Mirzakhanyan handed over diplomas to the graduates who completed their studies with excellent academic performance. He congratulated all graduates for passing the final examinations and on the occasion of receiving diplomas and invited everyone to participate in the celebration to be held in the evening.
The diploma awarding ceremony started at the Faculty of Art Education with the performance of Armenian and International Youth anthems.

In the beautifully decorated auditorium, ASPU Rector Rouben Mirzakhanyan and Faculty Dean Sargis Elbakyan delivered congratulatory speeches.
Addressing the graduates, the rector said, “I want you to work by your profession. We are trying to keep the best graduates here, at the University.” Then he handed over Diplomas with Honour to the Master’s degree graduates, saying the Faculty had many excellent graduates this year.
“Life is divided into stages, and today you have overcome a significant phase of your life. Now you should find jobs and transfer the knowledge you have gained at the University to new generations, by constantly improving the knowledge you have stored here,” said Sargis Elbakyan, Dean of the Faculty of Art Education, Candidate of Pedagogical Sciences. He wished the graduates success and creative approach in all their undertakings.
