Conference Participants Discuss Approaches of Foreign Universities towards Modernization of Pedagogical Practices

The international conference “Modernization of Constant /Continuous/ Practice and Introduction of Organizational Mechanisms in the System of Higher Pedagogical Education”

 today continued its work at Armenian State Pedagogical University (ASPU). 
 
In the first part of the conference co-chaired by Heghine Khachatryan, Dean of the Faculty of Primary Education, ASPU, and Melanya Astvatsatryan, Head of the Chair of Foreign Language Teaching Methods, ASPU, the reporters presented the experience of various countries towards modernizing pedagogical practices and tried to develop appropriate recommendations in this context.
 
Further on, Alexander Gluzman, Rector of the Crimean University for Humanities, Tatyana Bogdanova, Associate Professor at the Smolensk State University, Valera Vardanyan, Head of the Chair of Art Education at the Mordovian State Pedagogical Institute, Metka Aberšek, Professor at the University of Maribor, Vintsentas Lamanauskas, Professor at the University of Šiauliai, presented [on the example of their countries] the problems of pedagogical internship organization, the perspectives of their solution and new didactic interpretations of educational curricula.
 

Heghine Khachatryan, Dean of the Faculty of Primary Education, ASPU, Mkrtich Avagyan, Head of the Department of Education Development and Quality Assurance, ASPU, Mels Mkrtumyan, Head of the Chair of Theory and History of Psychology, ASPU, Hayk Petrosyan, Head of the Chair of Professional Education and Applied Pedagogy, ASPU, Associate Professor Marianna Avetisyan, Nazeli Hakhverdyan, Applicant of the Chair of Age and Pedagogical Psychology, ASPU, Assistant Lecturer Manik Hakobyan, Marine Mikaelyan, Lecturer at “Urartu” University, and Aziz  Deylami, a postgraduate student at the Institute of Philosophy and Law, RA, also delivered reports. 
 
Talking to armspu.am, Srbouhi Gevorgyan, Vice-Rector for Educational and Scientific Affairs, lauded the conference and its process saying all participants were actively involved in the discussion of the main topic as effective organization of internship is an urgent problem which is important in all times. 
 
 “Students’ practical skills are of vital importance in their professional activities. Taking this into account, ASPU viewed the modernization of internship as a strategically important issue and decided to implement reforms based on the criteria developed in cooperation with experts from the University of Oulu,” said Srbouhi Gevorgyan. She ensured that the reforms will be aimed at involving students in the educational environment from the very beginning of the learning process.
